Nepal’s benchmark equity index moved slightly higher during the pre-open session on Wednesday, pointing to a cautiously positive opening for the final trading day of the week.

The benchmark index of the Nepal Stock Exchange rose by 1.10 points to 2,585.59 in the pre-open session. The index had closed at 2,584.49 on Tuesday after gaining 3.27 points. The Sensitive Index also advanced, rising by 0.32 point during the session.

Trading activity remained limited in the pre-open window. A total of 45,602 shares were traded across 43 stocks through 122 transactions, generating turnover of approximately Rs 18.49 million.

Among traded stocks, prices of 15 companies advanced, while 25 declined. The remaining three stocks traded unchanged, reflecting mixed sentiment among investors ahead of the regular trading hours.
