LPG Industry Association Urges Sale of Gas at Rs. 2,060 per Cylinder
The Nepal LPG Gas Industry Association has urged gas industries to resume selling LPG at Rs. 2,060 per cylinder after the Prithvi Highway reopened.
The Nepal LPG Gas Industry Association has urged gas industries to sell and distribute LPG in the Kathmandu Valley at Rs. 2,060 per cylinder from Friday, October 2.
The association said the Prithvi Highway, which had been blocked following floods in the Trishuli River, has now reopened. As a result, gas industries are no longer required to transport LPG through alternative routes, according to the association.
The association had previously requested the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) to allow a total selling price of Rs. 2,165 per cylinder, including an additional Rs. 105.35 transportation cost, while the company-set price remains Rs. 2,060 per cylinder.
Following the disruption on the Prithvi Highway, gas industries had been refilling cylinders at facilities in Makawanpur, Parsa, Bara, Chitwan, Nawalparasi and Dhading and transporting them to Kathmandu by truck through alternative routes.
With the highway reopened, the association has now called for LPG to be sold and distributed at the regular Rs. 2,060 per cylinder price from October 2.
